Bridgewater Bay

On the search for another sunset spot; this time further down the Mornington Peninsula cost at a place called Blairgowrie. Around the backside facing Bass Strait there is a place called Bridgewater Bay. This spot is a little popular with photographers as it provides some great long exposure opportunities with many rock formations and the sun setting in the backdrop. I was a little pessimistic on the drive down as dense cloud coverage seemed to take over in the afternoon. Once i got down there though, there was a glimmer of hope as the sun dipped below the cloud to show itself; an almost perfect recipe. There was a bit of haze around that evening which caused a bit of grief but what was to follow was one of the most epic sunsets I’ve captured. I was busy scuttling around trying to find the best angles to shoot trying to keep key features in mind. There is a “hole rock” down the end of the beach with a rock pool deep enough for people to jump into from the nearby cliffs. It was a warm day, so this was a bit popular! As the sun dipped, the sky caught on fire is the best way to describe it. See for yourself…
